Aug. 11 - Eastern Kentucky University Athletics Director Jeff Long announced that prospective men's basketball transfer student-athlete, Rick Jones, will not attend EKU this Fall.

July 28 - Three-time National Basketball Association All-Star Dan Majerle of the Miami Heat will be featured in a free basketball clinic at Eastern Kentucky University's Alumni Coliseum, Thursday, August 10th, at 9:00 a.m.

June 22 - John Brannen, former assistant basketball coach at the University of Charleston (WV), is serving as assistant coach at Eastern Kentucky University for new Colonel head mentor, Travis Ford.

May 16 - Eastern Kentucky University basketball coach Travis Ford has announced the signing of Ben Rushing, a 5-11 guard from Hickman County High School in Clinton, KY, to a national letter-of-intent.

May 15 - Eastern Kentucky University head basketball coach Travis Ford has announced the signing of Shawn Fields, a 6-3, 195-pound junior guard who is transferring from the University of Georgia, and Clinton Sims, a 6-3, 195-pound junior guard from St. Catharine (KY) College, to national letters-of-intent.

May 12 - Eastern Kentucky University head basketball coach Travis Ford has awarded 6-10 center Tim Volpenhein, who sat out the 1999-2000 season at EKU as a redshirt freshman, a full scholarship to play for the Colonels.

May 12 - Eastern Kentucky University head basketball coach Travis Ford has announced that Jerry Pelphrey and Chad Dollar have assumed assistant coaching positions on his coaching staff for the Colonels.

May 10 - Eastern Kentucky University head basketball coach Travis Ford has announced the signing of two junior college players to national letters-of-intent.  Joining the Colonels' roster for the 2000-2001 season are Chris Carswell, 6-7, 215-pound forward from Hiwassee Community College in Madisonville, TN, and Richard Gaston, 6-7, 225-pound forward from Labette Junior College in Parsons, KS.

May 9 - Eastern Kentucky University head basketball coach Travis Ford has announced that his first official signee for the Colonels is Rick Jones, the 1999 Kentucky Mr. Basketball who played last season for Vanderbilt University.

Feb. 26 - Eastern Kentucky University played Ohio Valley Conference co-champion, the Southeast Missouri Indians, tough the whole way, but lost the 1999-2000 season finale, 65-48, Saturday at EKU's McBrayer Arena.

Feb. 25 - Southeast Missouri, now tied for the Ohio Valley Conference lead, will provide the final opposition of the 1999-2000 season for the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels Saturday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. Colonel senior forward Darick Mattox will be honored in Senior Day activities before tipoff.
