COLONELS COME BACK HOME FOR THREE OVC GAMES
RICHMOND, Ky. - Coach Scott Perry's Eastern Kentucky University Colonels begin a week long three-game homestand Tuesday night with an 8:00 p.m. contest with Morehead State University at McBrayer Arena.
EKU comes into the game 6-8 overall, while Morehead State is 7-7. Both teams stand 2-3 in conference play and are tied for seventh place in the latest OVC standings.
The Colonels are coming into the game off two road losses - a 94-65 defeat at Austin Peay and a 94-88 loss at Tennessee State.
"We need to take care of the basketball better and start cutting down on the turnovers we have. We also need to play better defense and hit the boards like we did earlier in the season," Perry said.
Sophomore forward Sam Hoskin had a good road trip for the Colonels, scoring 19 against Austin Peay and a career-high 31 versus Tennessee State. With these efforts, he raised his team-leading scoring average to 15.9 points per game. Sophomore guard Whitney Robinson is scoring 12.7 points per game, while sophomore forward Will Morris is adding 11.4 points per contest.
Eastern continues the current homestand with an 8:00 p.m. game with Murray State Thursday night and concludes the three-game slate at McBrayer Arena this week with a 4:15 p.m. game with UT Martin.
Tickets to Eastern's remaining home contests are available at the EKU Athletics Ticket Office in Room 126 of Alumni Coliseum weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tickets may also be ordered by phoning the ticket office at (606) 622-2122 or 1-800-262-7493, inside Kentucky.
