RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University basketball coach Travis Ford has announced the signing of Ben Rushing, a 5-11 guard from Hickman County High School in Clinton, KY, to a national letter-of-intent.

Rushing averaged 25.4 points and 3.8 assists per game last season for Hickman County. He hit 45.6 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from behind the three-point line and 84.8 percent from the free throw line last year for the Falcons.

He was the First Region All-Purchase Player of the Year, the Biokinetics Player of the Year and will participate in the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star series as a member of the Kentucky all-stars this summer.

"Ben is a great person, as well as a great basketball player," said Ford. "He has excelled at the highest level in the classroom and on the court during his high school career. We feel very lucky to have someone of Ben's character and ability to be a part of our basketball family here at Eastern."

A three-year varsity player at Hickman County, Rushing finished his high school career as the all-time leading scorer in Hickman County High School history with more than 1,800 points for a 22.2 career scoring average. He also totaled 293 career assists in high school for a 3.6 per game average.
